An Ode to an Icon

I wonder why there is so much pain

I know there is nothing to gain

For, I lost you, lost you for ever

Knowing I can get you never

I wonder why there is so much pain

You ruled the tinsel town

Like a princess

You stole our hearts

And left a few glimpses

All’s changed since, and my heart is sore

The roads are dry; the sky is still

Calm is the spring, I am at the shore

You are gone, gone with the wind

You are one of the kind and difficult to find

May your soul rest in peace

And rejoice the eternal bliss

You are in my memory

As you got me in reverie

Now I knew why there is so much pain

I know there is nothing to gain.
